Headed to the mail box
« on: April 03, 2013, 12:02:00 PM »
Been cramming to get caught up,(aint gonna make it) before a little trip to CA, (for work) and the upcoming busy season here on the Ranch. This Hunter headed to the new owner today. I forged it from more of the Meteorite Damascus I've been playing with. 4 1/2" blade, Meteorite Dam guard, Bighorn Sheep with peened SS pins. Thanks and hope you like it.

That's a sweet one for sure.
From my reading I understand the Dyak headhunters of Borneo also used metorite material in their forging.

That's classy as all get-out.  Very nice fit and finish work.  That baby will hunt!  :)

Very nice. That sheep horn is perfect.......and I really like how slim your finger guard is. Quite a few hunters in this style are made with a very chunky finger guard. You nailed it in my opinion.

Doug, I am happy you did not bring that one to the house or I would have been in trouble with the wife. Beautiful knife as usual.

I can't remember ever seeing a knife of yours I didn't love, and this one stole my heart immediately -- love at first sight. I agree with all the complimentary comments from others.

As an aside, Tom Brokaw returned here to Oklahoma City for a speaking engagement a few days ago. I hated to miss it, but had more pressing matters that required my presence. He's a heck of a guy! And he knows how to surround himself with high quality folks too!!!!
