Thank you to Lin

Most everyone who visits the hunting knife forum has learned volumes  from Lin's very generous sharing of the methods he uses in his forging craft. He's been a wealth of knowledge and help to all of us who have tried our hand at making our own try's at building knives or tools.

Lin sent me some "stuffing" in the box with the St Jude knife a few weeks back. One of his forged axes that he's been posting here this spring. I still can't post pictures or this thread would have several.

I've used the axe clearing some down trees from road's and blazing a trail that I've been working on. It's a winner in every way and will do a job way over what axes it's weight will normally handle. It balances very well in the hand and makes me smile every time I use it.

Lin joins a long line of very generous people on this site who have gifted me with friendship and knowledge way over what I'm worthy of. To say thanks does not seem near enough.

Thank you my friend, I will treasure this axe and your friendship even more. It will be with me every trip to the high country.  I can't wait to thank you in person and shake your hand.

I second or forth this statement, he always seems to ring in when needed, and much help had.. I'm new to this part of the trad gang forum, but agree he is a great source of knowledge for all of us in his responses and posts.

Lin Rhea has truly been a blessing to me as well, Robin.  I know where you are coming from.  You'll not meet anyone with more time, patience, and knowledge when you need him, as well as a quick joke at just the right time to make you feel great!

Thanks for posting the pictures Lin, sorry bout that stainless roller buckle on the cover. It doesn't match that very classy axe very well but I was out of brass.
Copper rivets aren't very pretty but they are  stronger than tube rivets and won't rot the leather like steel rivets. The first cover I made like this has gone over 15 years of hard use and has been on the head while driving hundreds of trap stakes and tent stakes. Kind of like Forest Gump said "pretty is as pretty does"
