Camp Knife

I recently finished this Camp Knife that is made from some Bakilite that Karl sent me. The guard is wrought and the blade is forged 5160. This knife is an awesome cutter.

Sure looks like it would cut! I don't know what the distal taper is like, but it looks as though it carries some weight forward. I sure don't see anything to stop it once it starts slicing through something.

I like that lanyard hole in the top of the guard too. It's hard to picture that handle slipping out of my hand, but I did have a machete slip out of a sweaty hand once when trimming a shooting lane and it scared the living daylights out of me.

You're right Ron. The grind allows some forward shift in weight but not excessive. Always use a lanyard with this knife even though the grip is good. It's just not worth the risk getting cut with this thing. I can cut better from not worrying about it.

That's a beast.       one of these days I'm going to actually get caught up and have time build me my very own big knife.  Maybe then I'll stop getting drool all over my keyboard looking at the ones you guys keep posting.

That's my kind of knife Lin! You make some of the nicest "collectible" knives I have ever seen, but it's your "users" that really do it for me!
 Is this one gonna get a raw hide faced sheath like some of your other cutters?

Ray, The edge is straight but the over all shape of the knife does make it looked sort of curved.

Boy howdy!  My granddad would say that thing is finer than a frog hair split down the middle!  And from the looks of things, that sucker just might split a frog hair right down the middle.  I particularly like the dropped-point influence on this once.  It look beefy, hefty, and ready for the fall woods!  I can't say enough how impressed I am with not only Lin's talent, but his generosity and helpfulness whenever goobers like me need it.
