one more low layer damascus
« on: November 26, 2013, 11:31:00 PM »
Here's the last of the three low layer blades I did. Just got it etched today. 4 1/8 inch blade........9 layers 1084 and 15n20, laddered at the edge. Still deciding on a handle for this one.

Finally got this one done.
8 5/8" overall length
4 3/16 guard to tip.
Almost a 1/4 inch thick, but lots of distal taper and quite thin at the edge.
Coin edged guard and satin finished spacer.......both nickel silver.
Cocobolo handle
Tooled leather sheath.

Very nice work all the way around. I like the retention strap over the top so it doesn't get cut.

Very nice Darcy. I love the blade profile.  It lends itself to use so well. Thanks for sharing.

Excellent work. I like the design all around and you used some nice tricks to spice it up.

That is great looking. How thick is the handle.

At the butt it is just a hair over 3/4 inch.......and just a bit less than 3/4" at the mid point of the palm swell. 1/2 inch thick spacer.......wood is slightly over that at that point.
Thanks for the kind words guys.
