Very nice. I like the low tip, makes for a very sleek looking knife. I don't have enough experience with big knives to have any input about how well the different tip designs thrust, but the simple physics of it make sense. I see a lot from Lin that have the low tip like that as well and have always liked the way they look. Is the clip sharpened? It seems that that would also increase penetration, but a lot of guys don't feel comfortable with a sharp edge facing up toward their face.
I may have the opportunity to do a larger bowie for a guy the first part of next year, and I'll probably go with a more low tip design than the one I posted on here a week or so back. If I do, it'll be far beyond anything I've done so far, in both size/design, and the type of finish work required. I've explained all of this to the guy and suggested some of you guys that have more experience with what he wants, but he still seems interested in getting me to do it since he knows me personally. I told him if he decides to go forward with it, I'll do the best I can and if it doesn't work out the way he wants, I'll keep it for myself and he won't be out any money. So, I may be coming to you, Lin, Karl, and so on for advice along the way.
