Petty and Santoku
« on: May 05, 2014, 04:36:00 PM »
I just finished up this pair and figured I would share them.
The big one is my Santoku and the small one is my Petty design.
The handles are some nicely figured Desert Ironwood and stabilized curly Koa on the petty.
Both blades are 14c28n.

Your kitchen knives are great. I really like how you did the pins on the Petty. Too thin of stock to bother tapering the tang on that one?

Thanks Darcy. Sometimes I taper the tang even on the .096" knives, these were for a dealer so they were mostly made to spec.

That petty is pretty pretty.
When the last deer disappears into the morning mist,
When the last elk vanishes from the hills,
When the last buffalo falls on the plains,
I will hunt mice for I am a hunter and I must have my freedom.
