Amazing!
« on: October 05, 2014, 11:38:00 PM »
Hello my name is mike and I'm a bow builder who usually hangs out on the bowyers bench. I just wanted to let ALL of you guys know how amazed I am at the knives you all turn out on here. I have always had a thing for knives but never really had the funds to justify collecting them. So I compensate for that by visiting this forum and watching what y'all build.  Thought I would just say good job and keep posting pics of your amazing works! It is definitely watched by many!

You should give making a knife a try. I started out on this site in the bowyers bench, making my first bow. Then I found this spot and thought I could maybe save up for a nice custom knife. Then, it all went downhill....  :) . I saw several people posting up their own knives and I got seriously sucked in. You can truly make a very good knife for yourself with little in the way of specialty tools. I built a forge and used an angle grinder and files for my first 3 or 4 knives. There are some who make amazingly good knives with only files. There are a lot of great people that will help you out along the way. Just be careful-it's one seriously addictive hobby  ;) .
