Since it's your son's favorite, you could name it after him, or "Scion". Another word for "son".

Just call it the Rhea.  Rhea is the name for a large South American bird similar to an Ostrich, one of Saturns moons, and a Titan from Greek mythology.  I also heard of a fairly decent knifemaker by that name once.  100 years from now, custom knifemakers will be building their interpretations of Rhea Knives and arguing with each other over what actually counts as a Rhea knife.  The only time you'll here the word Bowie is in American history class or oldies rock stations.

Thank you to everyone who has helped me with this name. This is a name of the blade style and profile to serve as a reference so others can help me in either designing a knife or another blade shape. I have decided to call it "Talon" as the shape. The Talon shaped blade. The word Talon may or may not be in a given knife's finished name but this will help the choosing process to get started. Again, Thank you.

Beautiful knife and looks very functional. If you don't mind I'm wondering what stock you started with?

Thanks. I started with a bar of 1075, .300 thick X 1-1/2 wide X about 10 inches. With the material displacement, tapers, etc. the blade is 10 inches.

Well I got it done. I used Ringed Gidgee for the handle. This is great wood.

The Camp Talon.

I got a picture of this knife in the sheath. I really like the sting ray.

Not that it needed it but that sheath really set it off.
