Nicholson Axe File
« on: August 08, 2015, 01:22:00 PM »
Hi guys, I'm looking to make a knife from a Nicholson axe file (made in USA). I have annealed it in a wood stove and let it cool down in the ashes, now I can shape it, drill it etc. Will this make a good knife and can you tell me the proper way to harden it and temper it. Thanx,...Lloyd   :notworthy:

We have discussed this at some length in the past. Here is a link to the discussion. Of course we can still help, but you might read it first and then get back to this thread please sir.
