"The Long Hunter"
« on: December 03, 2015, 08:03:00 PM »
Well, it's kind of like one of my hunters, and it's, umm, long.
So, there.
In fact, it is basically built on one o my hunter platforms, but is both bigger and longer.
And it's what the guy wanted.
1095/410 San Mai, hot-blued take-down fittings and Ringed Gidgee.
I hope it serves him well.

When the last elk vanishes from the hills,
When the last buffalo falls on the plains,
I will hunt mice for I am a hunter and I must have my freedom.

Oooooooooo, that looks really nice. For a strict hunter, I like a shorter blade, myself. But I'd be willing to bet that knife will tackle a lot of jobs with ease, not just cutting up a critter. And as always, I LOVE getting to see your San Mai.... Bet your customer is one really happy camper with that package  :) .

I'll bet that would make a heck of a camp knife. How long is the blade?

I think it was about 8 inches. Maybe 7 1/2". It's gone now.

Great work Karl. I'm sure it will handle anything he has in mind to use it for.

First time visitor here, long time Trad Gang member ............ can you say "elegant" about a hunter?
   Fantastic artistry on this forum!
Hmmmmm. I know you think you understand what you thought I said, but I'm
not sure that what you heard is what I actually meant!

As a larger knife fan, that looks like a very useful, do anything knife. I like the slimmer lug on the guard, and the no nonsense blade shape.   :readit:    :campfire:
