I have been saving back a few of my Grandpa's old files for knives and I finally decided to put one to use for knife number 150. The file was very worn out, it was almost smooth to the touch with no bite left in it at all. When I was hammering on it, I couldn't help but think of all the things my grandpa used the file for to get it in that condition and I was excited to give it a new purpose.
I was wanting a small everyday carrying knife and this is what I came up with. The knife blade is 3 1/4" long and is 7" overall. The scales came from a horse leg bone I found while looking for arrowheads this summer, I thought they turned out quite nicely for something I just picked up out of a field, can't beat a set of free scales!
