Can anyone tell me if 8cr13 steel has good edge retention?
Thanks

I have several AG Russell pocketknives in this steel and they hold up well. I should add that I don't usually let my knives get dull. I stop my edc knife on the bottom of my ceramic coffee mug every morning. just a few strokes keeps it sharp.

Thanks Buck. I just got a knife of this and it seemed take a lot of sharpining to to do much.

longstiks, I'm guessing the factory edge was very steep and you probably spent a lot of time removing metal to get the edge thinner. I would expect subsequent sharpening will be much quicker.

Part of the problem was different angles on the factory edge but the steel did seem to be fairly hard. Thanks again
