Arrowhead Forge Knife Re-Do
« on: October 03, 2016, 02:04:00 PM »
Long before I even contemplated making my own knives, I read an article about Arrowhead Forge making all the tools and knives for the movie "Dances with Wolves".  I purchased a few of their primitive knives and thought they looked pretty cool.  Fast forward...I was cleaning the basement today and found those knives.  They still look cool but the blades and edges are very thick.  So I decided to see how good one would be with a little diet...thinned and rolled edge.  Since they were rough finished, it only took me about 15 minutes to re-design the edge geometry and finish with a Scotch Brite belt.  The little knife is shaving sharp.  Now to see if it holds an edge.  Just something different to do...tippit

In the beginner's mind there are many possibilities. In the expert's there are few...So the most difficult thing is always to keep your beginner's mind...This is also the real secret of the arts: always be a beginner.  Shunryu Suzuki
