South MS Bowhunter, It is sharp. I sharpen before etch which explains the etch going all the way down to the edge. It is in new condition. In other words, after the next sharpening, it will have a very thin metallic line along the edge. That is to be expected. However, it is sharp. I sharpen my blades before any other part is installed. Yes, I work with it sharp and occasionally get cut. But that's the only way I can test the blade's cutting ability and heat treat and make any necessary corrections.
