Good Trade or Bad Trade??
« on: February 04, 2008, 10:58:00 AM »
Thinking about trading my Bob Lee Signature T/D Recurve for a G&L Mantis Longbow.  Anyone know anything about the G&L?

Thanks for any input........

Is it a takedown or a one piece??  Heck of a bow either way.

The G&L is a one piece.

I have never shot a one piece, but I owned a 3 piece that was one of the best shooting, fastest bows I have ever owned.  It was PRETTY Too!!  If the G&L is in the specs you want and in good shape, I can't imagine it being a bad deal.  Gene and Larry built some find bows!!!!

I'm with Carbon Caster on this , I have a G&L 3 pc. longbow , one of the best I 've shot, I don't think I'd trade for a 1 pc. though just my thoughts.

With that being said the Original G&L MANTIS 1 pc. was great short longbow very smooth and fast.

This one is a 62" one piece.  Are these bow R/D or D style?

Mike,

I am sure you shot the one I had.  It was Ray Hammond's old bow.  Probably shouldn't have let that one go.  Never shot a 1 piece myself.

I probably did Brian, I 've got an 60" 60@28" 3 pc. longbow called "UGG" ugliest dang thing you've ever seen in your life. But is a killing machine, it's been retired to just turkey season. The 1 pc. has a forward riser not like a Shrew but I reckon would be more of a reflex riser. Fast little bows, light weight real good bows, I just never could shoot one as good as I could shoot the 3 pc.
