First Snake Skins Finished
« on: November 16, 2008, 06:37:00 PM »
Here's an Osage bow I've been working on for a couple of months. It's 60#@28" and 62" ntn and really zings an arra. It is very tight ringed and I thought I was never going to get a ring chased on this stave. I didn't plan on putting skins on this one but a friend of mine found a timber rattler in the road that had been run over and he saved it for me. This is the first time applying skins for me and I can say "I'm hooked". It wasn't quite as hard as I had thought it would be. Here's some pictures.

Thanks guys.
Dano, after your sidewinder bow, I had to try the skins. You could say, you've been an inspiration.

Shaun, I tired to put an arra in the frontal picture but my wife said she wasn't taking the picture if I did.LOL   :)

Sean, the tips are maple and cocabolo.

Tommy, not yet. How 'bout you?
By the way, this is the bow I was working on at the Expo.
