I spent the morning kind of reversing the normal process... instead of tuning an arrow to a bow, I'm tuning a riser to shoot a specific arrow. I want to use 1616's in my new bow and as we left the riser at JD's, it was shooting them strongly left. So, this morning I fired up my nice shiny new oscillating spindle sander, flap sander and pneumatic drum sander and got gutsy and started taking wood off of the riser. I succeeded... It's now shooting the arrows quite well. I went from a riser thickness of 1.2" to .82". Of course, with no shelf and a symetrical riser, I had to duplicate what I did four times. I got some photos of today's progress and posted them on my personal bulletin board... the bow is coming along nicely... three more coats of finish and a leather wrap and it's done.

I'll post new pix taken outdoors in good light when the bow is really finished and shooting... Hopefully by the weekend... but at this point, I'm feeling pretty good
