burning pur. hart/ no more
« on: December 01, 2008, 11:47:00 PM »
Thanks guys
I have started on my third bow, almost a year from making my first one, and thanks to the boyers bench i am off to a good start. I got a new blade for my bandsaw ( i cut the tip off of 4 limbs and dawld my old blade) which let me saw strips and cut the riser so i could  make a laminate riser. I have a jig to make the circular cuts but the old blade would walk  and would not cut duplicate cuts, my different peices would not mate up, got some new belts for my belt sander, made a jig to cut the limb angle, so i can now make the next one identical. Orginized my shop / basement/ got a drill press working on making a jig to drill my limb bolts...
Results... im happy with my riser up to this point. The riser is purple hart and maple @ 13 in. The glue goints are tight and im ready to order some glass and action boo to throw on my form and hopefully make a 58lb at 30in, 58 long bow.
I will post more picks when i get some more work done ( might be a while but my work shuts down for almosts all of dec. so i hope to have it done by jan 1 2009.
All of this is because of the info i get from the bowyers bench... Thanks very much guys.

If you're typing the IMG boxes in yourself you can't have a space before the "http:" or after the image name.
Looks nice
