Lee, I think your decision on limb tapers will effect the smoothness of your draw more than the riser length.  IMHO The riser length will determine the forgiveness of the bow, physical weight, pointability, and other shooting aspects. .001 tapers will give you a bit smoother draw over .002 tapers, so when your planning your pack laminations, I'd take that into consideration.

As far as limb pack thickness, check out binghams website for there thickness chart.  It will help you get a baseline for your first build, IF you use there R/D plans.  Tim

tim  its not my first but ive only done 2 others the form is of my own design and i know ill miss the mark on weight but the first will give me a starting point also the taper will be 1 1/2" at the fades and 3/8" at the tips by the way are you going to make the rabbit hunt and trad shoot at rockspond this year?

Lee, Not sure if I'll make the Rabbit hunt, it seems to always fall on my one and only guys weekend.  I will definitely be at the traditional shoot.

Post a picture of the form and we'll be able to give you an idea of where to start.  Without knowing the profile I wouldn't know what to tell you.

Yep,if you can post a pic of the form, bet you can get some recipes here. My old form took .340 for a60" , 50# @28"  r/d bow, with a 15" riser.
Stay sharp, Kenny.
