There is a tutorial on maiking your own here:
 http://www3.sympatico.ca/ragiwarmbear/diy/flemish/flemish.html

I did it and it was really easy...much easier than it looks. I made the jig in about 10 minutes out of a 2 by 4 and some finishes nails, and I have made several strings now each one coming out perfectly.
The String material is available at most good bow shops.

What draw weight is the bow you want the string for?  For a simple kids bow of light draw weight there are lots of options for strings. If it is a heavier bow a real bow bow string should be used. You can make your own, buy a new string or trade for one with someone that makes their own.

Guys,

No specific draw weight that i know of (no Scale), Its a 48" long board bow for my 2 year old. What do i have to do to measure the length of the string needed? I have a "mock Up" string on it now, i could measure that? i just want it to look as real as possible for the boy, thats all.The mason string makes it look cheap.

Let me know what i need to get this done! lol

Doeboy, I'd be happy to make you a "real" string for the bow but I am not able to do it now.
Measure the string you are using on the bow now from the end of the loop to the end of the other loop. that will get you close enough to the length needed. If you have an extra string laying around cut it off a few inches longer than the bow and tie a bowyers knot for the bottom limb. That's as traditional as it gets.

I have used braided artificial sinew on all the bows i've made like that. Tie a bowline knot at one end for top loop then tie semi-permanent bowyers knot to bottom nock.
