Hello all.
I know I’m new here (I couldn't find an introduction thread - I'm a UK target archer who has recently bought a traditional recurve for field shooting and is hoping to pick up some tips) but I just wanted to weigh in on this thread. Hope that's okay
philippelobo: Not sure where you’re hearing those stories about Border hunting and target limbs breaking, but Border certainly aren’t hearing about this so I think it may be just rumour.
There have been some reported issues with the GLX laminate on some of their new traditional bows, but it was cosmetic only. The few limbs affected have been replaced, but none of them were in France. Furthermore, Border report that while a very small number target limbs using the new CXC laminate have had problems, again none of these are in France.
All types of limb break, but Border has a very good reputation for quality and customer service, even after the warranty period is over.
There’s a section on the AIUK site (
http://www.archery-interchange.com/forum) where you can discuss Border products and where they talk about developments and problems as they arise. It’s a good source of information.
Anyway. good luck finding a bow that suits you, whoever the manufacturer
Good shooting,
JK
