Can you change draw length on a Osage bow that has been shot in from 50@27 to 50@30?

It depends on the bow length and the amount of set. You will need to tiller it out to 30" to see for sure.

You may can back the bow and be able to draw it to 30" When you draw a bow past the draw length it was made at the pounds increase.Selfbows also often encounter problems when drawn past their original draw length.Don't take my word for it though. I'm sure someone much more knowledgable than myself will respond to your question. Paul<><

No problem, I did it on a bow last week. You need to keep a close eye on the tiller as you reduce the poundage because any wood you remove will change how the limb bends. I would stop reducing poundage 2 or 3 pounds over your target weight. Most of the time you will loose a couple of pounds when you shoot the bow in.

Your bow has been tillered to a certin draw leanth. You can draw less leanth. But to draw more leanth your bow has to be retillered to that draw leanth.
If your bows draw is 28"s and you want to draw 30"s you have retiller.
If it's 28"s and you wish to draw only 26"s you can you only lose draw weight.
If you want to draw 26"s and keep the same weight. You have to shorten your bow and retiller it at 26"s.
