Question for BBH slight R/D
« on: March 08, 2009, 07:04:00 PM »
Going to try my first BBH with slight R/D.  I'm shooting for 50-55 lbs.
After some reading on here I'll plan on 1 1/4 wide at fades and beginning around 9/16 thick tapering towards tip with slightly rounded belly.
My question is, from 1 1/4 at fades should I carry this width out to say half limb or begin a straight taper towards tips?
Also, what would be a good tip width?
Thanks

What's your intented bow length? And you draw length? With a white-wood belly I believe I would go a little wider than 1 1/4". An 1 1/2" limb width  would be better in my opinion. Personally, I like to carry the same width to mid-limb and then taper to 1/2" width at tips. This gives me the option of doing some side tillering when needed.

Probably going to go for about 62", and my draw is 26".  If I can reach 50# at 26", that would make me real happy.
