Glue for grip?

I just got in a longbow and I need to make a new grip and strike plate. I have the leather and will trace out the patterns tomorrow, but I'm wondering what glue to use? I'm looking to copy a Hill style of laced grip and plate.

Contact glue is what most use I believe.

If you are going to wet form the grip, Tandy has a "Eco Friendly" Water Base Glue.  I will hold the wet leather in place while tye leather is wet.  I have used it on a few bows and it works great.

Have always used the Tite-bond glues to glue down the leather grip/shelf/plate and not had the first problem..........except when I had to remove 'em for refinishing.

Thanks guys! Tim, that sounds like the ticket. It's a locator grip, so I'll need to wet form it.

Contact cement just on the face of the grip.  Then stretch the leather to fit and trim.
