Hog Hunting - California - July
« on: February 06, 2008, 11:52:00 PM »
I will be in the mid to southern portion of California in July, is there any hog hunting that time of year, or any other hunting for that matter.

Thanks alot

Plenty of hog hunting that time of the year.  Also coastal Blacktail deer season comes into play in July.

What part of the state exactly are you going to be?
If your near San Fransico, talk to Bjorn, or he will chime in.
Lots of places in the Central area.Mike from M.A.L. leather lives in Modesto.
Are you talking public land hunts?
I live in Santa Barbara,if I can help let me know.
Plenty of old Bear recurves to play with here(well not compared to Bjorn)

Am I anywhere close to hogs??

Tejon Ranch would be close but not cheap. Great amenities and you will get on pigs even on the unguided archery hunt. You will have to call in check on availability as a single because they book as groups.  http://www.hunttejon.com/hunts_pricing/pig_management.html

Hey yall,
I am living in Bakersfield, which butts up to the Tejon ranch.  I haven't hunted it yet, but I know it's pretty pricey.  I can tell you it's full of sage brush and rock.  They cliam to have mulies, elk, and turky as well.  I also know that there is public land that holds pigs not to far away to the east of Tejon near Mt. Pinos.  It's national forest.  To the other guys who are putting a hog hunt together shoot me a pm.  I'd certainly like to meet some other tradgangers and I love to hunt hogs.

A bunch of us are thinking about a norcal hunt around Black Butte Reservoir near Corning later this spring-I'm going to check it out via boat a week from this Monday.  If anyone's interested, let me know?

Greetings Angus, I'd be interested and have a canoe for two and gear if needed.
