Hi guys,

So i did a bit of looking around i couldn't find a place that is "fit" for this so i'm just going to ask here and i really hope this is ok and i'm not doing anything wrong....

I was wondering where i would find someone that would be willing to make me bowstings or at least if you could tell me where i should be looking for someone to make one for me. I need a bowsting for a #40 and a #45 pound longbow and the string that i made out of silk didn't hold up at all. (snapped when i put it on) If nothing else what should i be using to make strings for heavier bows?

Today you can make bow srtings from several types of material, Dacron, Fast-Flight, and BCY-450 etc. For Bows between 40-45 pounds the recommended number of strand per string is 12 for Dacron, 18 for Fast-flight, and 14 for BCY-450. You can reduce this number by 1 or 2 strands if you like. Making you own strings is easy and adds to the experiance of being an archer.

Thank guys, exactly the info that i was looking for. Which is better continuous or flemish?

I like the flemish. The jig is much smaller and once the twist is worked out they are easy to put together. Just practice a bunch in front of the tv.
