Glueing Problems- need suggestions
«

I have been building bows like the Dryad guys with a center "power" i-beam riser. When I glue up the bow I also glue up my handle block laminations- all with smooth on in an oven. My glue up problems occur when I try to glue this handle block to the belly of my bow blank. I am looking for a solution that sets faster than smooth on curing at room temperature but will be stronger than a 5 minute epoxy. I am gluing ipe sanded with 50 grit and washing it very well with acetone but 5 minute epoxy is delaminating.

Take a piece, and try without acetone. But I think 5 min epoxy is not good for this use. And, one more thing with acetone, i have seen it bring more oil to the surface. Especially on Ipe.

Use Urac 185

The broadhead used, regardless of how sharp, is nowhere as important as being able to place it in the correct spot.
