Going to try again??
« on: June 18, 2009, 10:18:00 AM »
Still holding on to the bamboo backed red oak with the bamboo belly just a few minor things with it. But now I'm   ready to move on to another. I have a 7 foot Walnut board 4/4 and a 6.5 foot cherry 4/4 board a 36 inch Purple Heart 4/4 and a 4 x ¾ 33 inch Bocote. What can I do here?

With boo back and belly most of the woods you mentioned will work as a core. I thing a lighter weight wood would be preferable like the walnut or cherry. I guess the curly maple would work too.

Sorry Pat I didn't make my self clear the one I was working on was bamboo back & belly. I was thinking of walnut backed with cherry and working the riser out with the others??
