1.5" wide Limbs on a 2" Form
« on: August 07, 2009, 11:32:00 AM »
This may be a dumb question but I am wondering whether there is any downside to using a 2" form to build 1.5" limbs.  I am just starting to build a take down recurve and am building a form to make 2" limbs. If I want to build 1.5" wide limbs in the future, will I need to build a new form or will I need to build a form that is 1.5" wide?

Thanks in advance. Paul

Lams can slide around ALOT.

If you make the 2" form you can always put guide strips or pins on it to limit the width to 1.5"

Just run a half inch of material (your choice) down one side of the form.  Remember to cover it well or you will glue it to the form.  And no, masking tape is not what I mean by covering it well.  Plastic such as saran wrap.
