Changed Strings Today ?
« on: February 08, 2008, 07:27:00 PM »
Changed strings on two of my Bear K Mags today. I was shooting endless loop. The 1964 Mag #46 @28 I put a 2 bundle 12 strand 48" Flemish string on and set brace height to 8 1/2. Shot some 30" 2016's,flew good. String is served with mono (I believe) Picked it up at the Harrisburg Sportsman's show.

The other Bear K Mag 68-69 yr/ #48 @28 I put a 48" Flemish three bundle 15 strand ? and the serving was .19 halo. First thing I noticed it was like a bull rope compared to the 12 but got it braced to 8 1/2.

I nocked an arrow and best I can explain it was like a double snap. Shot an arrow and whacked my arm. My question, Is The  nock tightness causing this ?

The other bow , No problems at all. Any help suggestions are greatly appreciated

Thanks,
Mike

I dunno about the problem yer havin', however, an arrow nock should fit a bowstring's center serving fairly loose, never ever tight, and never a "snap" fit.  Both of those strings were Dacron, I trust?
IAM ~ The only government I trust is my .45-70 ... and my 1911.

Rob,
Yes both dacron and classic nocks. The halo serving I'm getting a snap fit.
Thanks Rob

Yup, sounds like nocks are too tight, you can easily shoot 10 strand B-50 on those bows or twelve. I shoot twelve on my 56# bow which is dacron only. Shawn
