Help for kids bows
« on: August 17, 2009, 02:31:00 PM »
All the boys in the neighborhood keep hounding me for a bow of their own so I need to start making them some out of my smaller staves, but I don't have any layout dimensions.  Any help would be good.  I need something for 4-6 year olds and something for 9-12 year olds.  Thanks.\\

There used to be a few sites that had kids bow layouts, but they are no good today. I have built a few 4-6 year old kids bows. I like to make a bow 48-50" long and 20# @ 22", for the older kids you can make a longer and slightly heavier bow, you'll just have to get them involved to dial in the draw weight. Prolly be more fun that way.

If you want, I can send you some Cloverdale leftover rattan bows and arrows to hold them off while you finish yours.  I also have a buildalong somewhere.  My site was murdered a while back so I am re creating it as I can.  Send me an email - [email protected] and I'll get the bows and the buildalong to you.
Take a kid hunting!
