Was wondering if anyone had ever tried to build a glass static recurve or if that's what you would even call it. (Shaped like [ but with curves and not corners.) I'm new if you can't tell. Just curious as I thought I might want to build one.

Take a look at Dryad Bows, the Orion is as close to static as any one makes. Very fast bows too btw.
