48" Hickory Asiatic Selfbow
« on: August 20, 2009, 11:58:00 AM »
So I introduced myself a while ago right after MOJAM and now I have a bow I would like to show you all. It is a hickory selfbow 48", about 40# @ 30". I was going for an asiatic bow look without horn or sinew. I think it came out pretty good. Thanks.

Very cool Ryan! I want to recurve the tips a bit on one of the bows I'm working on. Did you use steam or a heat gun?

b.glass, I actually boil my tips just because its easier than steaming for me.

Canid, there is little hand shock if any at all. I don't really notice any when shooting.

Thanks for the comments.

Anyone amazed as I am at a 48" selfbow drawn to 30"?!!  That sort of design is pushing all sorts of envelopes and is completely unforgiving of tillering errors!
