Light weight riser material?

What are some good light weight riser materials that are tough as nails? Curious to see whats being used.

Babinga, Jatoba, Shedua, Maple,just to name a few. plus a host of multi-laminate riser blocks.(just to name a few).
   What pound bow do you want to build?

Oh..about low to mid 50's from 27-28 inch draw. 60-62 inch longbow.

Walnut is a very lightweight wood for a hardwood and it looks great.  It's not as strong as most hardwoods tho, so you might want to laminate in some accent strips.

Are you building a Longbow or a Recurve? the lighter you go in the handle on a LB the more shock and vibration you will feel. Because of relatively small riser, the extra weight is less detrimental. In a recurve, the handle will be much larger and minimize some or all of the shock.
