139.15"
« on: January 02, 2019, 12:56:15 PM »
Not the length of a bow or the height of a tree stand but the amount of rain we received in 2018 here in Transylvania County NC. Our 20 year average before this was about 70" a year.   :saywhat:   :scared:

Darn, I thought we had a lot.

We set a record of 58 inches.

It was the best year for mushroom hunting I've ever seen. Simply awesome.

I think most of the eastern US had record rain in 2018 especially along the Gulf and Atlantic coast. We are also in a warm spell with below freezing temps pretty rare in the last month. It's good for my wood pile but bulbs are already emerging. The January thaw came early this season.

Rain can be a bad thing because it loosens the soil under the tree and they get uprooted easily in wind storms.  We had the worst wind storm ever recorded in history 2 weeks ago.  Thousands without power.   Call it climate change or whatever things aint looking good.

We have had power outages, especially with the 14" of snow we got in 2 days a few weeks ago. Trees down and land slides.
