bow finish

I have a John McDonald big river bow that has a few scratches my fault and a couple of round white spot in the finish if you pick at the spots with your finger nail the finish comes off like it was a airbubble ? any idea on a touch up or do I need to refinish the entire bow?

You could call John and ask him what type of final finish he uses, and possibly do a "touch up" yourself.  

Ive had a similar issue, and simply feathered out the peeling area with 400 grit paper, making sure all the edges were blended well.  Cleaned lightly with denatured alcohol,  then used a Krylon "matte" clear spray.  I applied 3 light coats over the course of a few days,  then blended it all in lightly with 0000 steel wool.

The touch up was not detectable at all.

if theres any signifigant deep spots you could probably fill them with superglue then touch it up like lamey said. superglue is one of the most popular fixes ive seen for glass cus it does the job pretty well

I'm glad you posted this question. I'm currently dealing with the same issue.

Lamey - did you use the krylon clear coat on the handle and, if so, does it make the grip slick?

I have a few light spots from a drop that I want to make sure remain sealed against the elements.
