Glue lines in riser

I'm having a heck of a time getting my riser pieces flat enough so the fit is perfect. I made a lam sander out of a drill press with a fence and sled but the wood has a slight crown. So I took the pieces to the belt sander but keeping them even aint working so far. I was thinking about getting a table top planer.
So how do you guys get your riser glue lines perfect. Apex Predators look perfect.

You may have too much tension on your rubber sanding drum nut.  You could always build a drum out of plywood.  The secret is starting with a sanding system that is true, and them lots of fitting and continued sanding until you can't see light between the pieces.

Well I fixed it, the 3" drum sander didnt work out, no matter how loose or tight I adjusted the nut. I also have a 1.5" drum sander that worked. I reground the sled to match the drum sander then run a piece thru and it came out flat. All the pieces fit much better.
