Drying maple
« on: March 08, 2010, 04:42:00 PM »
Hey guys I roughed out a piece of sugar maple for a self bow just about to tillering stage. I clamped it to a board with some reflex to dry. I then put it in a warm room with a fan blowing on it. How long would you guys let it dry in this situation before tillering?(I cut and split it into bark on stave in october, but it has been in a cold shed untill now)

I roughed one out and floor tillered it, put it a few feet from my water heater, and in 3 1/2 weeks it was ready to go.
