anyone ever made a selfbow out of Hawthorn? just got a 6 foot fresh log about 6 inches round given to me. Also any advise on how to handle shuch log (if worthwhile) I am brand new to the craft, only one board bow under my belt

Hawthorn makes an excellent bow. Consider it a whitewood and build it accordingly. RyanO of PA built one not long ago. Check it out.
