New Bow Finished - Meet "Osage Can You See"
« on: April 30, 2010, 11:16:00 PM »
I just finished another one of my longbows, this one for one of my shooting buddies... Osage, boo and cherry... 37@28.  I'm continuing to experiment with limb width vs. core depth, and while this one isn't as extreme as previous ones, it sure does a job of throwing a nearly 13 gpp arrow.

Lookin' fine, Captain!

What kind of leather is on the handle?  It looks distressed.

Ray....  that was one of my great opportunities bearing fruit.    My wife does marine interior design and was asked to reupholster a big double quarter berth cushion that had been done in fine upholstery leather.   She was about to throw out the old cushion cover when she asked me, "Could you use this?"    Well, duh!   It had gotten pretty cut up in the process of her work, and a lot of it was really in bad shape, but I got enough out of it for quite a few little projects, including bow risers.  I don't think it was distressed when installed, but after about 15 years in boat use, it certainly qualifies!

Dick that's a nice shooting as well as looking bow

Dick, I bought a widow off of you a couple of years ago.  Lost your info.  Sent you a pm.
