New board bow.
« on: May 13, 2010, 12:26:00 PM »
My first board bow was 72" tip to tip with a 10" handle section and I cut in a shelf.  So, for this one I dropped the handle and attempted a 62" bend-through-handle bow and I'll shoot off my hand.  Well, I didn't fail, but I didn't pass with flying colors either.  It hinged at a few spots and until I got it semi-good, it was only 33# at 28".  It also pulled a splinter so I backed it with linen.  Here's some pics.  It's still not a perfect tiller, and it doesn't seem to really "bend-through-the-handle", but it's sure fun to shoot.

Good for you.  The tiller looks pretty good. It does seem to have a large non bending handle section. Jawge

Thanks.  That's what I thought too, Walkabout.  I can definitely feel a bend in my hand but when I look at the picture, it looks pretty straight to me.  This one is 60" NTN too.

No way! I have a Lynhill Llewellin too. She's 9 now. Unfortunately hardly any birds on the eastern shore anymore. Wonderful dogs. Your Bow is nice too, but the setter caught my eye!
