my trade bow
« on: May 20, 2010, 11:45:00 PM »
Got home today after a long day at work. Just sittin around on the couch relaxing a bit when my wife asked if I'd seen my package on the front steps. I said no and asked what it was. She said probably another bow, it's in along tube. I knew right then it had to be my trade bow. I could not have been any happier when I unsocked this beauty named Buffalo Spirit.

This SWEEEEEEEEEEEET bow was made by Bert Frelink from Alberta. Bamboo backed osage
(I think) The tip overlays are awesome. It is also a great shooter. First 3 arrows were all in the kill at 18 yds. Have a little osage selbow I made that I was gonna shoot at the NCTAC next weekend. Not anymore though. I'll be shootin this beauty.Bert I couldn't be any happier. You did a great job. I'm glad you drew my name. Thank you so much. Did I mention it's a beauty. Here's a few more pics

Another one of your beautiful bows Bert.   Congrats on your new bow Paul. She is a real beauty and from what you said a real shooter. Bring it to Hickory if you come.

Awsome!

I new it was on the way Kodiak. I've been talking to Bert though PM's and he's been advising on my Boo backed bow.

That bow is a sweet one for sure. Everytime I see someone post the bow they recieved and how much they like it the Happier I am that I put this together. I couldn't have done it with out everybody that joined in though. So Hat's off to all the bowyers.

Hey,(Thanks Kris),
I was hoping you would like it Paul.
It's a pretty basic design but that seems to work the best most of the time!!
I hope you enjoy shooting it as much as I had fun building it.
Hope you did well at the tournament.
It's been great fun watching this Trade thing unfold.
Regards.
Bert.

Looks beautiful,CONGRATULATIONS,  Bert made me an Osage/bamboo backed bow in 2006 and the first time I took it hunting , I got myself a 5 point bull elk at 13 yds. If I knew how to post the pic I would. The fella I was hunting with put a second arrow in the bull as it walked by him, He didn't know I had even shot my bow because it was so quiet. Both arrows were about 4" a part. Elk went maybe 80 yds.
Bert is a craftsman at its finest...I own several QUARTERMOON Bows  and they all seem to kill critters!!!!
My motto is......no critter is safe in the woods when your packin a QUARTERMOON Bow.

Now thats whata bows sposed ta look like,in my oppinion.
Target archery is seeing how far away you can get and still hit the bull's eye. Bowhunting is seeing how close you can get and never miss your mark.
