About to start my BBB
« on: May 22, 2010, 05:51:00 PM »
Seeing the bamboo backed bamboo build along inspired me to order materials and give it a try. Just ordered two pieces of bamboo, a piece of zebrawood for a riser, and some Urac 185. I have built a BBO before, so I have the tools. I just love the look of bamboo on the back and belly. Thought about trying a static recurve, anybody else have experience with these? pictures?

Yeah, that bow was amazing. I saved it on my desktop. It looks like it belongs in an art gallery  :p

In fact, maybe I'll try to make one too... when I have the money to get bamboo anyway.
-How to make a bow-
Step one: Make a pile of shavings.
Step two: Shoot your new bow!

I've got no experience, but can't wait to see how yours goes.  I really liked that build-a-long and would love to give a recurve one a try.  Where'd you get the boo for yours?  Is it very spendy?  And what kind of form are you going to use?

I got the boo from 3Rivers Archery and its about $20. I used a form similar to the one Roy from PA shows in the build along before, will probably just modify it to get more bend at the tips. Hope it works out!
