Lately i have had the bug to add a new bow to the collection, i am currently shooting and hunting with a 56" Great Northern Super Ghost, and wanted to go shorter, but the local archery shop has a almost new used morrison for sale that is absolutely beautiful and shoots as well as it looks, my only hesitation is its 60" I initally wanted to go shorter than my current bow, Was wondering how many hunt off the ground in thick cover with bows this length and longer...open to all opinions on the length of the bow and the bow itself as this is my first time handling one....knowledge cant hurt before i spend that much money...thanks all!!!!

I own two Morrisons and can say that they shoot as good as they look. Can't say much about ground hunting.

Just one man's opinion, but I think you'd be fine with that length, with a pretty fine shooting bow at that. If it fits and you shoot it well, it's hard to beat a Morrison.

Why not save up and order a new Morrison the way you want it?
When I buy something "close" just because it's a good deal, I usually end up wishing I had what I REALLY wanted....

Morrisons run a little on the short side anyway and 58" and 60" bows are my personal favorite. A 60" b riser c limb combo is hard to beat and I find them very manuverable on the ground. Great resale too if it doesn't work out, and you could trade the limbs or riser to get a shorter bow.

Terry Green has a 60 inch Morrison, A riser and C limbs with skins, that is one of the best looking recurves I've ever seen. A 60" recurve should be just fine in tite situations.

My a riser c limb Morrisons have always been 58"s .

fatman...ironically the options on the bow are everything i would have checked off on a wish list that would pretty much put the bow out of my price range new....and according to the charts with my 29.5" draw length i really should be shooting a bow of that length...just didnt really know much about the company or the bows....from the sound of what yall are saying though the bows are top notch! Thank you again and all info and opinions are welcome and appreciated!!!

I own two of Bob's bows, a Cheyenne Recurve(A riser/B limbs=56" bow) and a Shawnee Recurve(B riser/B limbs=58" bow) I will never sell or trade either and if you knew me like most of the people here you would know that says something about Morrisons,LOL.

As long as the preload on the limbs is comfortable for you go for it. I have a B riser with C limbs and it is 60". It is one fast bow and Bob seems like a nice guy to boot!

If I had a 29.5" draw I wouldn't want anything shorter than a 60" bow.. But everyone is different.. Bob Morrison is a super guy to deal with and his work is fantastic..

I went through the same debate as you. But I thought if I was going to lay down a chunk of cash I wanted to get a bow that was exactly like I wanted...no compromise. So, I ordered a 60" Cheyenne. I have not shot a shorter one. But I think because of the string angle at draw that 60"-62" is a good length for a recurve.

OK, if it is not left handed you can have it. I'm really surprised a nice used Morrison showed up in an archery shop in NJ, but I guess anything can happen. If the draw weight works for you, jump on it!

Goose im not going to question it im just going to go back this weekend! I think the biggest factor that kept that bow on the shelf is most hunters in my area dont believe you can kill deer whit a bow without wheels...Works for me cant wait and with any luck ill be turkey hunting with it in a few months!!!

It's like Morrison's site says there is no comparison !!! You will not regret it. However your other bow is going to collect dust !
