I have a bow that shoots outstanding, but I am switching from right handed to left handed. I was wondering if everything is measured accurately, what would prevent someone from cutting the mid-section of the riser out...sanding down the fade outs to "flat surfaces" while maintaining the glass's integrity and enough substance to mill out a "bolt on mounting system" on each limb and then making a new riser to accept the limb bolts ending up with a 3 piece take down bow where the limbs are mounted to come off the riser at the same length and angle as they did off the one piece? If it is possible, I understand the new "mid-section" would of course be longer than the piece that was cut out as it would have to "overlap" the limbs for the limb bolts to mount properly.
If this can be done, I could convert my right handed bow to a left handed bow.
Any thoughts/comments from bowyers? Ever done this before?
