Shopsmith Mark V?

Anyboby ever use one of these?  I had one donated to me the other day. It's rough right now.  No attachements, accessories or paperwork with it but I think it might be worth restoring.  I already got the motor off and sent out for repair, find a belt and it should be operational.  Looks like buying up the accessories will be expensive though.  I would love to hear from someone that used these for bowmaking.

The problem with the shopsmith was it could do it all but nothing really well.  And in the end, you could easily purchase separate craftsman or whatever wood working equipment cheaper and probably do it better.  

Its great for someone with limited space.

They are great for limited space.  I know some people really like them and I've heard they make good lathes for sure.

Decent sanding disc and lathe

I've owned one for over 25 years. Now that I have more space I've put some of the accessories on power stands. I used the band saw for a lot of stuff including bow making. I now have a 14 inch grizzly which is much more powerful.

The belt sander and disc sander are very helpful in bow making and I also use the jointer/planer.

There is no doubt if you have the space stand alone units are better.

I have the lathe accessory and duplicator but have never used it. Guess I should sell it some day.
