Filling drilled holes in recurves
« on: July 05, 2010, 12:17:00 AM »
What are the best ways and materials to use to fill holes that were drilled into recurves for sights, etc.? Thanks.

When I have completely refinished a bow I mix some of the sandpapered dust from the riser and mix it with 2 part clear fill the holes and they will almost disappear.

I bought a beautiful bear some years back very cheap because it had holes drilled for a sight. I drilled out the holes and installed brass inserts for the sight along with a brass stablizer insert, then refinished the bow. Looks factory and only a true Bear collector would know it isn't.
