Tips on installing riser inserts
« on: July 12, 2010, 05:47:00 PM »
I have a kodiak hunter I just picked up for bowfishing and it has 2 screw holes from a sight. I would like to drill and put inserts in to my AMS reel. Any special instructions or just drill em square and epoxy in? Thanks for your time. Skippy

Use a bottom tap to thread it and epoxy.

I usually put a bit of masking tape over the bottom of the insert, before I thread it in, keeps the epoxy out of the insert. Especially  if you use to much.  Guess how I know.

I am with Jess here, (learned a new tip) Thanks for being part of this site, masking tape would do it. I remember having to clean out those threads (what a deal)
