Wood storage?

I live in Michigan and my shop is in my basement, this means that the humidity is high.
I Have a heat box that I could store my wood in and keep on bulb going all the time but whenever I have to cook a riser of limb I will need to empty it out.(pain) So I have another option to store my wood in my attic above my garage but I am afraid of bugs getting in the wood any ideas of how to hande this situation. I thoght about building another heat box for low temp for wood storage 80-90F with some ventalation that I could keep in my shop. So what do you think any other ideas?

Since it would be easier if the wood was close at hand, you may want to think about a dehumidifier for your basement, if its not to large of a space.

The attic may be to hot and dry and crack the wood. In the summer anyways.

I dont think a dehumidifier would keep the area I have my box in low enough, to large of a area, however I do have a closet under my stairs I could use for storage and put the dehumidifier in there. Do you think it would work?

T Folts, a dehumidifier in a small space does a good job of drying and keeping wood dry. Don't go too small and cause a fire hazard, though!

I have dried half-inch thick yellow poplar boards for arrow shafts from air dry to single digits that way, in just a few days.

Keep them in the living room.  I have one drying there right now, with only minimal complaining from the wife.  The rest are in the garage.
