Agreed.  After further research, I think I did too much on the long string.  I attribute that to wanting to work on it and not having the proper short string to work with, so I kept thinking "Oh I can do this", etc...

On a positive though.  I soaked the heck out of the crack and 1" on either side back and belly with some water thin CA tonight.  Once that was all cured, I wrapped the entire area, about 2-1/2" long or so, with black B-50 that I cleaned most of the wax off with a paper towel soaked in denatured alcohol.  This worked pretty well.  Then when the wrap was done, I tried to clean some more wax off by heavily wiping the dacron.  Once that dried, I soaked the wrap VERY thoroughly with the same CA.

That cured up and I put it on the tillering tree.  I worked it out and got it to 29" and 44# with no noise at all.  I exercised it a good 50 times after that.  Still no noise.  By golly, I think it worked!!!

Now, I think the upper limb moves far more than the lower, more than it should really, but it is functional, and bow #1 providing I don't screw up the handle.

I'm not sure if I should do the wrap on the lower limb as well or not.  I could do it in about 20 minutes or so.  What do you guys think?  It would give it more symmetry, but do you think it would look funny with just one side wrapped???
Striving to be imperfect.  So far so good.

i wouldnt wory about putting on a secnd wrap until youre done tillering because it would only serev for looks, and it would cover one area of the other limb, which you need to be able to work. glad the patch worked out though.
